Beauty and the Biryani is 3! Time for a Giveaway!

Bonjour!

Yep ... 3 years ago (give or take a day!) I published my first post (on the iconic Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - just in case you were wondering!). And here I am 3 years later  - still waffling on - can hardly believe it!  Talking about beauty (and music) gets me ever so excited at times (I know I'm weird but hey ... I'm old enough to embrace it now!).  I certainly don't get to 'hit that spot' at work (pensions admin - let's all yawn together now shall we!) - so the blog has been a way to unleash myself on you poor souls and get it all out there and as Bow Wow Wow once sang ... Go Wild In The Country! (Youngsters will have to google this!)

I still get a kick out of every new follower and it may seem a bit corny but I need to say a big thank you to everyone who reads, comments (apart from the dodgy ones of course!) and comes back for more of the madness - it is very much appreciated!  With all of the above in mind ... I've decided to hold a little celebratory giveaway - haven't had one since last year so I reckon a 3rd blog birthday is as good a time as any!  Here's what you can win ...

Illamasqua Multi Facet Palette in Semblance ... I love the look of this palette (I wanted to keep it for myself but I'm being good/generous/mad and giving it away instead!) it includes products for eyes and cheeks to create a variety of looks. Obviously I'm unable to swatch myself but you can take a look at a full description and swatches here.

To enter just complete Rafflecopter below (entries will be checked). The Giveaway will run until 23 May 2015 and is open internationally. Please obtain permission from an adult if you are under 18.  A winner will be chosen randomly via Rafflecopter and contacted by email.  If no response is received within 7 days another winner will be chosen.

Friday Night FOTD and Illamasqua Lippie ...

Bonjour!

I went out last Friday night (well I went out for dinner with the hubby and kids this Friday just gone too but last Friday was more of a couples 'out out' and not just 'out' if you get my drift!). Anyway just thought I pop up a post with my slap for the night... really should this be entitled FOTN?  I'll just shut it and get on shall I...!

The products ...

Face
Mally Perfect Prep Poreless Primer
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealers in Medium and Deep - used medium under eyes and mixed the two for the rest of my face
Laura Geller Balance n Brighten Foundation in Tan
Bourjois Blush in Rose Thé - you can see my full review here
Daniel Sandler Instant Tan Face Powder (only used a smidgen as it was my first time playing with it!).

Eyes
Mally Evercolour Eye Shadow Stick in Antique Taupe - all over eyelid - so easy to use - stays put all day/night!
MUA Undressed Eye Shadow Palette - to highlight under brow
17 Eyeliner in Onyx (got it in a kit last year)
Revitalash Volumising Primer
Mally Instant Impact Mascara - review coming up
HD Brows Kit in Foxy

Lips
Illamasqua Lipstick in Blaze - won in a Giveaway last year - sadly it's discontinued - what a shame, it's one of my favourites!

Here's the whole lot on the kite - a bit more of a half kite than usual - you can see the nose is screaming to take over the pic - ah well...!

And a quick 'awkard pose' of the outfit - both last year's H & M top and Zara jeans - what on earth has happened to the knees on my jeans - they had been thoroughly ironed although it doesn't look like it in this pic ...!

Trying to get one of me and the pooch but he had other ideas! Must have been where I got my creased knees from!

Friday Night Nails - Illamasqua Style!

Bonjour!

Don't know about you but I'm not really a fan of these dark days with minimal daylight and need a bit of  'winter brightness' now and then whether it be lips, nails, clothes etc.  Went out last friday evening with my 'work-mates' so what better to reach for than Illamasqua Collide from the Illamasqua Mystery Box which I recently won!

By the time I had finished painting my nails the light was starting to fail and I had to move nearer the window to photograph - so apologies for all the reflection.  I love the colour (I have a couple of coats on) - it has a sort of vinyl effect and is brighter and more neon than is depicted in these photos but in a totally wearable way (even at my age!) and every time I look at my nails the colour cheers me up!

The polish went on really easily (nice brush I thought!) and dried quickly - which was a good job as I had to commence the mammoth task of getting ready for the night out and making myself look human!

It's now Sunday and I'm sporting a bit of wear on the ends of my nails - but I decided to cook a chicken curry last night (which incurred much chopping/peeling/handwashing etc) as I was feeling a bit rough throughout Saturday (more from lack of sleep than booze I should point out) - so I can't complain!

You can check out the full range of Illamasqua Nail Varnishes here - the range looks amazing!

Have you tried any nail polishes from Illamasqua? What do you use for 'winter brightness'?
